JTrek was founded in 2008 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of X-TEL Communications, Inc. (est. in 1994). X-TEL is a leading innovator of drive test and measurement equipment used to map and test wireless cellular telephone networks. Engineers and technicians from many of the world's largest wireless cellular operators use X-TEL's software and hardware designs to optimize wireless services.

In the early days, many of X-TEL's test applications were used to help ensure reliable cellular telephone service. This allowed wireless cellular users to rely on reliable service, ensuring that they could conduct business effectively, communicate freely, and, most importantly, feel safe when away from home.

Safety has always been a major application of cellular wireless technology. Most recently, building off its years of experience and knowledge of wireless engineering, X-TEL has unveiled its new consumer application under JTrek, LLC.

JTrek is the first fully functional wireless video security system built into the user's cell phone. Working on the latest models of the popular Smartphones, consumers now can inexpensively download a simple application that turns their Smartphones into a powerful personal security device.
